"Our mission is to provide the highest quality eye care in Northern Melbourne"

Coronavirus (COVID-19) NOTICE

29 March 2020        WE ARE STILL OPEN

As a precaution North West Eye Clinic is requesting all patients and visitors help in reducing the potential exposure of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) by informing us prior to any appointments if in the last 14 days

  • returned from travel overseas; or
  • had contact with a suspected or confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In these instances, the Australian Government recommends self-isolation for 14 days. As a result, we will work with you to reschedule your appointment/s to a date after the 14 days of self-isolation has passed, unless you are experiencing flu-like symptoms.

If you are attending our clinic please ensure:

On entering the clinic all staff and patients will have temperature testing. We have taken additional measures in regard to hygiene and cleanliness around the practice. We have increased our regular cleaning – wiping surfaces with commercial grade surface disinfectant; and will carefully ensure cleanliness between each patient.  Social distancing protocols have also been applied.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in cooperating with these additional measures, which are important to protect your health and safety, as well as that of our staff.

Please feel free to contact our rooms if you have any concerns.

Cataract treatment available, regain your vision

Cataract surgery is performed to treat cataracts. Cataracts can cause
blurry vision and increase the glare from lights. If a cataract makes it difficult for
you to carry out your normal activities, your doctor may suggest cataract surgery.

When considering cataract surgery, keep these questions in mind:

  • Can you see to safely do your job and to drive?
  • Do you have problems reading or watching television?
  • Is it difficult to cook, shop, do housework, climb stairs or take medications?
  • Do vision problems affect your level of independence?
  • Do you have difficulty seeing faces clearly?
  • Do bright lights make it more difficult to see?

If you have answered yes to any or all of these questions, call or email us at Northwest Eye Specialists for an appointment. Our dedicated cataract specialists will assess and then discuss the treatment options available to you.
